Helios, a US firm that says it is a pioneer of the “insourced chief investment officer” model, has appointed former senior BlackRock figure Corin Frost as a managing director. An insourced CIO, Helios says, works more closely with wealth managers than is the case with an outsourced CIO. An ICIO offers bespoke investment models and quantitative strategies that can be white-labeled and offered to clients as an “in-house” solution. This level of customization allows practices to differentiate themselves and create a unique value proposition, Helios says.
A 22-year veteran of the investment and portfolio management space, Frost retired from Blackrock in 2016 having spent almost 16 years at the world’s largest asset manager in a variety of positions, most recently as the global head of index strategy.
The firm recently added senior research analysts Lena Arai, PhD and Caleb Findell.
